On this page we answer some of the more common questions that we receive, in the hope that it will allow you to get replies to your queries more easily and more quickly. No, but purchase a well- known brand of sewing machine that is within your budget. Please make sure you have written guarantee or warranty and that the parts are readily available. Many brand new "cheap' sewing machines have no guarantee or parts available. What brand of sewing machine should I buy? Look around the shops and ask if a sewing machine can be demonstrated to you and have a practice and stitch a few seams. Alternatively ask your friends what brand do they have and what do they like about their sewing machine. I have never sewed before, can I really learn how to sew from your course well enough to make my own clothes? Yes, you can and I am pleased you wish to learn because it can be really rewarding. If you start from the beginning and follow step-by-step the methods in my Sewing Easy course then I know you will be successful. I have trailed all the methods with classes and taught many people how to sew. Hi, I am male, do many men learn to sew? Yes, men originally started sewing as tailors and these days some of our top clothing designers are men. Welcome to Sewing Easy. Do I have to purchase real expensive fabric to use your course? No, some of the best clothes I have sewn are made from medium or sale priced fabric. Always purchase a stable woven fabric and you can always ask the shop assistant for advice. If the fabric looks "stretched and out of shape" please don't purchase it as it may be very hard to stitch, will not "hang" properly when finished and you will be very disappointed in the end result. What is an e-book and how do I download it? An e-book is a simply an electronic book and as such is a quick and easy method to obtain a course or programme of information of interest. An e-book is delivered instantly and saves the cost of postage and package and time in delivery. You won't have to wait days or weeks checking your mail box daily. There is no waiting for Sewing Easy to arrive and it cannot get lost in transit either. To download you simply follow the on-screen instructions. I am quite nervous about giving out my credit card details on the internet. Is it safe? I understand how you feel and felt the same way when I made my first purchase on-line. Buying online these days is very secure as you don't give your credit card details out by telephone or in the mail. Only the merchant bank has access to your encrypted information and the process uses the latest SSL (secure socket layer) technology. How do I convert the currency and does it matter what country I live in? Our system handles all the major currencies, with orderiing possible from most the countries. Although we sell in American dollars our secure credit card processor will automatically convert it into your country's currency. It is that simple. |
